Prosciutto, cranberry, brie, balsamic crostini
The perfect holiday hors d’oeuvres
Holy yum. These flavors are simply amazing together…. I saw a variation of this recipe on Pinterest and I’ve been dying to recreate. These crostinis are perfect for the holidays—parties or even a starter for the main event. Let’s get started!
1 package of Italian prosciutto
1 round of brie cheese
Cranberry Sauce/Chutney (store bought or homemade)
1 Cup of Balsamic Vinegar
2 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar
1/4 cup of finely chopped walnuts (toasted recommended!)
1/4 cup of Olive Oil
A pinch of Salt and Pepper
Arugula to garnish
Preheat your oven to 375 F. While the oven is warming up, make your balsamic glaze! Over low hear in a small pot, combine balsamic vinegar and brown sugar. Simmer until it starts to thicken.
Cut the french baguette in thin slices. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to your olive oil, then brush across each baguette. Bake the baguettes until lightly toasted, about 8 to 9 minutes.
Slice brie cheese into strips, about the length of your sliced crostinis. Place the brie on top of your toasted crostinis, then roll one slice of prosciutto and place on top of the brie. Then, dollop a generous amount of cranberry sauce or chutney on top of your assembled crostinis. Then, garnish with a small piece of arugula and place a toothpick in the center of the crostinis to hold it all together nicely. Finally, drizzle your balsamic glaze and sprinkle your chopped toasted walnuts atop the crostinis. So easy, so delicious, so beautiful.
